Epoxy grout

Epoxy grout is a two-part resin-based grout (resin + hardener) that sets into a hard, waterproof, stain- and mould-resistant joint — unlike ordinary cement grout, it doesn't absorb water, so it won't go mouldy, wash out or crack in the same way. That makes it the upgrade of choice for wet, humid areas — showers, bathroom floors and kitchens — exactly where cement grout keeps failing and needing re-grouting. The trade-offs are that it costs more and is trickier to install: it has a short working time, sets fast, and must be cleaned off the tile faces properly before it cures (cured epoxy haze is very hard to remove), so it really needs an experienced tiler. For a dry, low-traffic area it's overkill; for a mouldy shower it's the fix that stops the recurring problem — best fitted by a tiling contractor who works with epoxy.
