The three most common causes are clogged filters or a dirty/iced coil, low refrigerant from a small leak, and a failed capacitor or compressor. Start by cleaning the filters — it's free — and if it still won't cool, book a gas and leak check.
A standard split-unit top-up typically runs a few hundred dirhams, but it depends on the refrigerant type (R22 costs more than R410A) and how much is needed. Insist the technician finds and fixes the leak first — refilling a leaking system just wastes money.
