Refrigerant (AC gas)
Also called: ac gas, r410a, r22, freon
Refrigerant is the fluid — commonly called “AC gas” — that cycles between the indoor and outdoor units, absorbing heat inside and releasing it outside. Most modern UAE units use R410A, while older ones may still run on R22, which is being phased out and costs more to top up. Refrigerant is not consumed like fuel: if a unit keeps needing “gas”, it has a leak that should be found and sealed rather than repeatedly refilled.
