Condenser (outdoor unit)
Also called: outdoor unit, condensing unit
The condenser is the outdoor unit — the metal box with a fan that dumps the heat pulled from inside your home out into the open air. In the Gulf it works harder than any other AC part, so a dust-caked coil, a bent fin or a fan struggling against 45°C air are common reasons a unit stops cooling. Give it clear space and an occasional gentle coil rinse, and never box it into an unventilated cupboard where its own hot exhaust gets recycled.
