Panasonic AC — the timer light is blinking. How do I read the error code, and what does H11 mean?
The timer light on our Panasonic AC keeps blinking and the cooling's dropped off. I gather the blinking means an error, but there's no obvious code on the display.

The blinking timer light is Panasonic's "there's a fault" signal — the actual code stays hidden until you put the remote into check mode. Here's the method.
Reading the code (Panasonic's own method): point the remote at the unit and press and hold the CHECK button for about 5 seconds until the display shows "--", then step through — the unit beeps and the POWER light confirms when it lands on the stored code (an H- or F- code). Match that against Panasonic's own code list (in your model's manual or Panasonic support) rather than a generic table — the meaning is model-specific.
H11 specifically is an indoor↔outdoor communication abnormality: the indoor board isn't getting a valid signal back from the outdoor unit for about a minute, so it locks the system out to protect itself. Usual causes are the interconnect wiring, a loose terminal or a control PCB — a technician job.
Rough rule with Panasonic: H-codes tend to be sensor/system/communication issues; F-codes are the more serious protection trips (refrigerant, compressor, pressure). Either way, do the safe basics first: clean the filters, check the outdoor unit is clear, and power-cycle at the isolator.
