Cooling capacity (BTU & tons)

Cooling capacity measures how much heat an AC can remove per hour, quoted in BTU/h or in tons (1 ton is about 12,000 BTU/h). Sizing matters: an undersized unit runs non-stop and never quite cools a sunny UAE room, while an oversized one short-cycles, wastes electricity and leaves the air clammy. As a rough guide a typical bedroom needs around 1 to 1.5 tons, but glazing, floor level and west-facing walls all push the number up.
