Fit-Out NOC
Also called: noc, no objection certificate, fitout noc, developer noc
A Fit-Out NOC (No Objection Certificate) is the written approval from your building's developer or facility manager confirming they don't object to your planned renovation — and in most Dubai buildings it's the first thing you need, before any government permit and before a contractor lifts a single tool. It sets the ground rules: permitted working hours, how materials and debris move through the building, the insurance and refundable deposit required, and which changes are actually allowed. Skipping it is the classic, expensive mistake — building security can stop the job on day one, sometimes mid-demolition. The correct order is NOC first, then the authority permits (Dubai Municipality, DEWA, or Trakhees in free-zone areas), then work. A fit-out contractor who handles the approvals will usually pull the NOC for you as part of the job. Once the work is done, the last step is snagging.
