Weep hole
Also called: weep hole, weep slot, weephole, drainage slot
A weep hole is a small slot or hole in the bottom rail of an aluminium window or sliding-door frame that lets rainwater and condensation that gets into the frame track drain back outside instead of pooling. They're easy to overlook, but in Dubai they matter for a specific reason: wind-blown dust gradually clogs them, and once blocked, the water has nowhere to go, so it backs up in the track and eventually leaks inside along the floor — often mistaken for a failed seal or a leaking glass unit. Clearing the weep holes (and the little external flap covers over them) is a quick maintenance step that prevents that. If a window or door still leaks despite clear weep holes, the frame drainage, seals or alignment need looking at by glass repair in Dubai, because a persistent leak is usually drainage plus seals, not the glass itself.
