How much did you pay to repaint a 2-bed apartment in Dubai?

Getting quotes to repaint a 2-bed apartment (move-out, so walls + ceilings, white). The range I'm getting is huge and I can't tell what's fair. If you've done it recently, what did you pay and what was included? Trying to build a reality check.

The spread is huge because "painting" hides very different scopes. What moves the price:

  • Prep — filling cracks, sanding, priming patches. This is 80% of a good result and the first thing cheap quotes skip.
  • Number of coats and paint grade (contractor-grade vs a proper washable emulsion).
  • Ceilings included or not, and whether they move/cover furniture.

When you compare quotes, normalise them: ask each for coats, paint brand, and whether prep + minor crack repair is included. A cheap quote with one thin coat and no prep will look patchy in a year.

Agreed on prep being everything. I went with a mid-range quote that itemised two coats + crack filling and it still looks fresh two years on. A friend went cheapest and had visible roller marks and patchy corners within months.

Tip: if it's a move-out for the deposit, check what your landlord actually requires — sometimes a touch-up of scuffs is enough and a full repaint is overkill. Get that in writing before you spend.
