Fitted wardrobes vs ready-made — which is worth it in a UAE apartment?
Furnishing a new apartment and torn between custom fitted wardrobes and just buying ready-made ones. Fitted look great and use the awkward spaces, but cost a lot more; ready-made are cheaper and I can take them if I move.
For anyone who has done both in a UAE apartment or rental — what did you regret, and what did you not?

It really comes down to how long you are staying and whether you own. Fitted wins on making use of odd corners, sloped ceilings and full-height space, and on finish — and it adds value if the place is yours. Ready-made wins on price and on being able to take it with you, which matters a lot for renters who move every year or two here.
The UAE-specific bit people miss: our humidity punishes cheap chipboard and MDF — doors swell, hinges sag, backs bow. So the material and hardware quality matter more than the fitted-versus-not question. A cheap fitted job in bad board ages worse than a good ready-made one (that is often what is behind a sagging built-in wardrobe door). If you own and plan to stay, spend on fitted in a moisture-resistant board through a carpenter for custom joinery; if you rent short-term, good ready-made is the smart money.
Rented for years before buying — ready-made every time while renting, no regrets, took them with me twice. Once we owned, we did fitted in the bedrooms and it was worth it. Right answer just depends which one you are.
