How do I find a reliable electrician in Business Bay?
Setting up in a Business Bay unit and I need an electrician I can actually trust — for the fit-out and the ongoing niggles like extra sockets, lighting and the odd tripping circuit.
In an area full of options, how do you separate a proper licensed electrician from a handyman with a screwdriver? What do you ask for before letting someone touch the board?

The line I would not cross: anything inside the distribution board or adding circuits should only be done by a licensed electrician, not a general handyman. Ask for the licence, ask if they are insured, and get the scope and price in writing before they start. A good one will happily explain what they are doing and why; a chancer gets vague.
Red flags: quoting to add a load of sockets to one already-busy circuit (that is how you end up nuisance-tripping), or not fitting/testing an RCD on wet-area and socket circuits. For a commercial-ish unit especially, that protection is not optional.
For a fit-out in a Business Bay tower, also check they will coordinate with building management — most towers need approvals and have their own rules for works, and a pro who has worked in Business Bay before will already know the drill rather than getting your job red-flagged halfway through.
