Jumeirah Golf Estates villa — the sheer amount of glazing is a maintenance job in itself, how do you stay on top of it?
Our JGE villa has an enormous amount of glazing, which is beautiful but I'm realising it's a maintenance commitment in itself, a couple of panes have started fogging, some seals look tired, and the big sliding doors are getting heavy. With this much glass, how do you actually stay on top of it rather than waiting for things to fail one by one? Looking for a sensible way to manage it across a villa this size.

With a heavily-glazed villa like a JGE home, the trick is to treat glazing as a scheduled maintenance line rather than a series of surprises, because the failures cluster. The things that go, in order, are: sealed units fogging (the edge seal perishes and moisture gets in, and once one goes on a sun-facing elevation others of the same age often follow), perimeter seals and gaskets hardening (draughts, dust, water), and hardware on large sliders wearing (rollers, tracks, locks on heavy doors). So a periodic inspection, once or twice a year, catches failed sealed units and tired seals while it's a handful, not a facade-full, and lets you replace just the affected glass units and reseal rather than whole windows. On this scale, safe access for cleaning and checks matters too, big high panes aren't a ladder job. Prioritise the fogged units and any failed seals on the weather-facing elevations first. Getting glass fixing in Dubai to inspect and service the glazing periodically, replacing individual failed units and resealing, keeps a heavily-glazed villa manageable instead of lurching from one failure to the next.
This is us too, so much glass. Switching to a scheduled check twice a year changed it from constant surprises to a planned list. And yes, mostly it's been individual sealed units and seals, not whole windows, far cheaper than I feared once someone actually looked properly.
