Jumeirah Islands villa, what plumbing issues come up on these established villas and what should we stay ahead of?
We're in an established Jumeirah Islands villa and a few plumbing things are surfacing, the water heater's clearly original, pressure varies, and I'm not sure when the water tank was last cleaned. On these villas, what plumbing actually comes up and what should we stay ahead of? Want to look after it properly, especially the tank side which I know matters for water quality.

On a villa this age it's about upkeep, not big failures, and you've spotted the main ones. The recurring items: the original water heater is on borrowed time (plan the swap before it leaks), the pressure-reducing valve often needs setting so pressure's even across the house, hard-water scaling steadily furs up heaters and fittings, and the water tank needs regular cleaning, which is a water-quality issue, not just taste. The tank especially matters, sediment and biofilm build up in the heat, which is why the authorities require domestic tanks be cleaned on a schedule by a permitted contractor (Dubai Municipality sets that requirement). So the plan is: get the heater and PRV checked, keep the tank cleaning on a schedule, and stay ahead of scaling. A plumber who works across Jumeirah Islands will know these villas and handle the tank and heater side together. The tank and heater are the two not to let slide.
Same on ours. The tank was the one we'd ignored, got it cleaned and the water was visibly better. Now it's on a schedule with the heater check. The PRV setting also fixed pressure that we'd assumed was a pump issue. Staying ahead of the boring stuff is far cheaper than the emergencies.
