Meadows villa owners — what plumbing keeps needing attention on these older Emaar villas?
We're in one of the older Meadows villas and while everyone talks about the AC on these Emaar homes, I'm finding the plumbing is what actually keeps cropping up, a bit of pressure variation, a water heater that's clearly original, some scaling. What plumbing issues genuinely recur on these ageing Meadows villas, and what's worth getting ahead of proactively rather than waiting for it to fail? Trying to be sensible about an older home.

You're right that on villas this age the plumbing quietly becomes as much of a theme as the AC. The recurring items on older Meadows Emaar villas are: original electric water heaters reaching the end of their life (a tank that's fifteen-plus years old is on borrowed time and worth planning to replace before it leaks); pressure quirks from ageing pipework and a tired pressure-reducing valve; and hard-water scaling on aerators, angle valves and the heater element that steadily worsens flow. None of it is dramatic on its own, but in an older villa a hidden leak or a failed water heater can do real, expensive damage before you notice, so the proactive move is a periodic check: the water heater's age and anode, the main and PRV, and a scan for any weeping joints. A plumber who knows the Meadows and these Emaar villas will know exactly which of these tends to go and can plan the water-heater replacement on your terms rather than as an emergency. Getting ahead of the heater and the PRV is where the value is on a home this age.
Same vintage villa. The water heater was the one that caught us, original unit let go and made a mess. Now I treat the heater age and the PRV as scheduled items, not wait-for-failure. The scaling is just an ongoing hard-water thing here.
