How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Dubai? (2025)

Omar K.HomeownerBudget-mindedPosted 30 Jul 2026153 views

Trying to budget a full bathroom renovation for a Dubai apartment — strip out, re-tile, new fittings, maybe move a bit of plumbing.

I have had wildly different quotes, from suspiciously cheap to eye-watering. What is a realistic 2025 range, and what actually drives the price up or down? I want to know where I am being taken for a ride.

The spread is huge because bathrooms hide the expensive bits. What moves the number most: 1) moving plumbing or the drain position (chasing walls and floors is labour-heavy — keeping the layout saves a lot); 2) tile choice and quantity (large-format and full-height walls cost more to buy and to lay); 3) fittings quality; and 4) waterproofing done properly, which you should never let anyone skip.

That last one is the trap with the suspiciously cheap quotes — they save money by skimping on tanking and prep, and you find out 18 months later when the neighbour below complains. Get a fixed, itemised scope, insist waterproofing is specified, and check the licence. Same advice thread the community wrote on not getting overcharged mid-renovation. For a done-properly job, use a licensed renovation contractor, not a cash-only crew.

From the tools-down side: the cheap quotes almost always mean thin waterproofing and rushed prep. Pay for the membrane and a proper screen/fall to the drain, spend sensibly on tiles, and do not pay big money to relocate the toilet unless you truly need to. That is where budgets blow up.
