For anything recurring, complex, or safety-critical, build a direct relationship with a firm you've vetted — check they have a valid trade licence, ask about insurance, and get the warranty on the work in writing. A settled local company that covers the range of home jobs beats a rotating cast of one-off visits once you're past the small stuff.
